Before I come to aliens, let me put down a few words for the author of the book, Ben Mezrich.
He is the guy who told the inside story of facebook.com and the internal conflicts among its co-founders. Not surprisingly, his book, The Accidental Billionaires: Sex, Money, Betrayal and the Founding of Facebook was eventually adapted into a movie, The Social Network, and went on to win multiple nominations in the Oscars and won a few awards!
So when Ben Mezrich writes something, I tend to take his research very seriously, which is the only reason why I bought this book, The 37th Parallel.
Although, the book is well researched on various UFO sightings and cattle mutilations, the key take away from the book is the multiple reports (in thousands) of such strange phenomenon strangely restricted to within 36°N and 38°N latitudes, but mostly around 37°N in the USA.
