LIVING A FAKE IDENTITY

Updated: Jan 25, 2022

Tragedy of being myopic is that people forget the small wonders of life. That a giant tree grows out of a small seed. That success in life, for all the giant leaps, comes from small steps.

Ever since we are born, we are given a fake identity by giving us (besides a name) an ethnicity, a nationality and a religion. And instead of finding our true self, our true identity and purpose, we spend the rest of our lives living up to this false identity.

There is no harm in being identified to a particular ethnicity, nationality or religious group. The problem lies in supporting and upholding the irrational issues, things and facts where a more rational mind would see the genuine short comings and tries to rectify them, instead of concealing and justifying it in the name of an ego that a fake identity has bestowed us.

As mentioned above, the tragedy of mankind is not in getting a false identity the moment we are born; but in never trying to find out our true self and purpose. The lack of enthusiasm to find them is one of the reasons why mankind is frustrated. This frustration leads to mid life crisis when we could no longer carry the burden of a false life.

A fake identity turns people myopic and takes away the broad vision with which each human being is capable of living. Tragedy of being myopic is that people forget the small wonders of life. That a giant tree grows out of a small seed. That success in life, for all the giant leaps, comes from small steps. Alas! Such wonderful things get obscured from the eyes when we think in terms of our ethnicity, nationality and religious faith we were born into and most importantly made to believe into.
